This collaborative project between Co-Principal Investigators Maria C. Escobar-Lemmon, Valerie J. Hoekstra, Alice J. Kang, and Miki Caul Kittilson provides data and visualizations for where women have served on constitutional courts and supreme courts worldwide. The scope of the research includes women on high courts in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The data gathered for the project are publicly available for download.

 

A book by the PIs, Reimagining the Judiciary: Women’s Representation on High Courts Worldwide, offers a theoretical framework for understanding the inclusion of women on high courts and cross-country analysis (Oxford University Press 2021).
